For the third year in a row, Piggyvest, Africa’s leading online savings and investing platform, has made CNBC’s list of the World’s Top Fintech Companies.

Every year, CNBC teams up with global market research firm Statista to identify the companies shaping the future of finance. The process is a rigorous one: Statista assessed 3,500 companies and more than 25,000 data points, and only 500 companies earned a place across eight market segments.

Now in its fourth edition, the list is the largest it has ever been, up from 300 companies in 2025.

We debuted on the list in 2024 and returned in 2025. This year, we appear once again in the Wealth Technology category — the segment for “companies providing digital trading, investment, and portfolio management options, along with technological platforms and tools supporting various aspects of the wealth management ecosystem,” as CNBC and Statista put it.

That is a formal way of describing what our users already know: we help people save, invest, and plan with confidence, right from their phones. Only seven Nigerian companies made this year’s list, and Piggyvest is the only one in the Wealth Technology category, the second-largest segment with 75 companies worldwide.

The timing makes this recognition a special one. Piggyvest turned ten in April 2026 — ten years since a tweet about a woman saving ₦1,000 a day in a wooden box sparked the idea for the platform.

In that decade, we have paid back over ₦3 trillion to our users and grown into a platform that serves more than six million people. Today, Piggyvest processes over ₦61,000 in savings every second.

Our conviction has not changed since 2016: saving and investing should be simple, safe, and rewarding for every Nigerian. Three consecutive years on a global list like this tell us we are keeping that promise, and they raise the bar for the decade ahead.

Thank you for choosing Piggyvest.
